St. Dunstan’s Gran Apertura- A Milestone
The Gran Apertura at St. Dunstan’s this past Sunday was a great success. People from Houston and different countries in North, Central and South America, attended to support this new ministry led by the Rev. Dr. Alvaro Pinzon, who was commissioned as the associate rector for Hispanic ministries.
Following the service, Aliento De Dios Radio announcer, (radio station where the Rev. Pinzon is the spiritual director), went live and interviewed the Rev. Dr. Roman Roldan, rector of St. Dunstan’s; and the Rev. Alex Montes-Vela, one of the Missioners for Congregational Vitality in the Diocese of Texas. The Rev. Pinzon introduced listeners to the ministry he will be broadcasting from St. Dunstan’s, and shared his hopes for this unique and exciting ministry.
The Rev. Pinzon committed to create new opportunities for pastoral care in the spiritual, emotional, and social realms within St. Dunstan’s Church. The Spanish service will be at 1:00 p.m. where, for three months, they will have liturgy of the word, healing prayer and holy communion until they are able to have regularly scheduled worship services, including the consecration.
The church is currently seeking musicians (who will be compensated) to serve, and are also in need of members of ministry who are interested in assisting them with helping this vibrant ministry flourish. All are welcome to attend.

La Gran Apertura en St. Dunstan’s el pasado domingo fue un gran éxito. Gente de Houston y de diferentes países de Norte, Centro y Sudamérica, asistieron para apoyar este nuevo ministerio dirigido por el Rev. Dr. Álvaro Pinzón, quien fue comisionado como rector asociado para los ministerios hispanos.
Después del servicio, el locutor de Aliento De Dios Radio, (estación de radio donde el Rev. Pinzón es el director espiritual), fue en vivo y entrevistó al Rev. Dr. Román Roldán, rector de San Dunstan y al Rev. Alex Montes-Vela, uno de los Misioneros para la Vitalidad Congregacional en la Diócesis de Texas. El Rev. Pinzón presentó a los oyentes el ministerio que transmitirá desde St. Dunstan’s, y compartió sus esperanzas para este ministerio único y emocionante.
El Rev. Pinzón se comprometió a crear nuevas oportunidades de cuidado pastoral en los ámbitos espiritual, emocional y social dentro de la Iglesia de St. Dunstan’s. El servicio en español será a la 1:00 p.m. donde, por tres meses, tendrán liturgia de la palabra, oración de sanación y santa comunión hasta que puedan tener servicios de adoración programados regularmente, incluyendo la consagración.
La iglesia está buscando actualmente músicos (que serán compensados) para servir, y también necesitan miembros del ministerio que estén interesados en ayudarles a que este vibrante ministerio florezca. Todos son bienvenidos a asistir.
