Diocesan Staff Member Chosen to Serve on Presiding Bishop’s Delegation to the COP26 UN Climate Change Conference

Ellie Singer, member of the communications department of the Diocese of Texas, has been chosen as a delegation member to participate virtually at the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (CO26) in November.

Singer, among other delegates, will stand in solidarity with smaller nations already affected by climate change and bring Episcopal values and beliefs into the room. After the conference, they will bring what they have learned back home, to the Church.

The Presiding Bishop’s delegation carefully monitors the major workstreams of the COP, such as mitigation, raising ambition, finance, adaptation, and loss and damage. Our local communities can learn from what others are doing in these important themes of climate change action around the world.
