[May 18, 2022] Houston, Texas—On Saturday, May 22nd, St. John the Divine, St. Martin’s, and St. James’ Episcopal Churches, along with HEB, Walgreens, Houston Methodist Hospital, the Bishop of Texas Andy Doyle, and the Episcopal Diocese of Texas, among other sponsors, are hosting a Great Outdoor Health Fair; aiming to bring some relief to the community. Admission to the fair is free and all are welcome. This event will be a COVID-safe space.
Attendees will be able to receive the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, high blood pressure and diabetes screenings, HIV and STD testing, mental health services, and wellness support such as meditation, counseling and prayer. In addition, there will be a drive-through food and water distribution, free masks, sanitizing supplies, clothing giveaway and goodie bags, along with music, games and fun activities for adults and children.
Those who receive the first dose of the Moderna vaccine will be able to follow-up with their second dose on Saturday, June 19, 2021.
A major highlight of the day will be the introduction of MEGA-COVID, a medical inflatable that you enter to learn more about the dangers of COVID-19, and the importance of getting vaccinated. MEGA-COVID will be on hand throughout the day, and visitors may sign up to receive a guided tour.
