Trinity Episcopal Church Celebrates 175th Anniversary with Special Service on January 4
Trinity Episcopal Church will celebrate its 175th anniversary on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026, with a special service at 10:30 a.m. led by the Rt. Rev. Andy Doyle, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas. The service will include baptisms, confirmations and the presentation of commemorative gifts to the church. Following worship, attendees will gather for a festive procession, catered lunch, music and fellowship. All community members are invited to join the congregation for the service and celebrations.
“Trinity’s 175 years tell a story of faithfulness—of people who showed up, prayed, served, and loved this community in Christ’s name,” said the Rev. Dana M. Jean. “We are grateful for their legacy and committed to carrying it forward with joy.”
Founded on Jan. 4, 1851, Trinity Episcopal Church has played a vital role in the spiritual and civic life of Marshall for nearly two centuries. What began as a mission to serve Texas and Pacific railroad workers and their families has grown into a vibrant, multigenerational congregation. Today, under the leadership of the Rev. Dana M. Jean, Trinity Episcopal Church continues that legacy, serving both lifelong members whose families have worshiped here for generations as well as those who have joined more recently.
The 175th anniversary service will launch a yearlong celebration filled with special events, themed gatherings, acts of service, and historical programs honoring Trinity’s past and future. More details on these upcoming celebrations will be released in early 2026.
