Bishop Doyle has appointed The Rev. Jan Halstead, deacon at Christ Church, Cedar Park, to be the dean of the deacon clericus. This is a new position in which Rev. Halstead will foster community among this group of clergy. Deacons are still encouraged to participate in their regional clericus groups as well. According to Bishop Doyle, “I am grateful for the foundation for the ministry of the diaconate laid by the first several classes of deacons. Deacon Jan Halstead brings a lifetime of experience, ordained experience, deep spirituality, practical care, listening skills, and leadership to the work of gathering deacons in the future. I have known Jan and Jerry since my Cursillo in 2007. I am personally excited about continuing to work with Jan in this new ministry.”
