BEAUMONT, Texas – Southeast Texas non-profit organizations received $44,500 in community outreach grants from St. Mark’s, Beaumont. The grants were presented to representatives from each organization at a special ceremony today at the downtown church. The grants are given annually from the proceeds generated by St. Mark’s Chili Supper and Bazaar and their resale store, the Treasure House. In the last ten years, St. Mark’s has been able to give a total of $443,700 in grants.
Organizations that received grants are: All Saints’ Episcopal School Scholarship Fund, Beaumont Community Partnership for Children, Buckner Children & Family Services, CASA, Henry’s Place, Hope Women’s Resource Center, HOW Center, Humane Society of Southeast Texas, Janiyah’s Love, Nehemiah’s Vision, Nutrition & Services for Seniors, Rape & Suicide Crisis Center of Southeast Texas, RISE Center for Independent Living, Samaritan Counseling Center, Slow Food Beaumont, Some Other Place, Southeast Texas Food Bank, Southeast Texas Hospice – Orange, Stable Spirit, Ubi Caritas, United Board of Missions-Mid County; as well as St. Mark’s own Friday Morning Ministry, Pantry Fund, and Emergency Outreach Fund.
